There are many of us that are not living a healthy lifestyle. It is very easy to become lazy, sit at a desk all day at work and in front of the computer and television at home. It is also very easy to be tempted to eat badly because there are so many delicious foods which are unhealthy for us. It is therefore easy to get overweight and unfit.
It can also be difficult to be motivated to break out of this habit. However, it is worth thinking about the future and how life will be if you are unwell when your grandchildren are born and you are not capable of looking after them or enjoying them in the way that you should.
It can actually be quite simple to start to make changes in our lives which can make a big difference to our health. First of all think about changes you can make to what you are eating. Take things a small step at a time, maybe replace an unhealthy snack for a healthy one or reduce the amount of take aways you have. Making a few changes each month can really help to make the transitions easier but also help you to start becoming more healthy.
Exercise wise you can make small changes too. Many people of scared of exercise, but no one will be expecting you to do a boot camp immediately. You can just start by doing some gentle walking or swimming and then increasing bit by bit, in the same way you change your eating.
This should make the transition easier and help you to stick to your new routines. If you change all at once, you may find that you feel deprived and just find it impossible to keep up and then you just give up. Small changes are much easier and can make a huge difference.
